Three Design Resources to Help Your Workspace ONE or Horizon 7 Deployment Go Well

If you need help designing your Workspace ONE or Horizon 7 deployment, read this blog post to find out about three design resources available on Tech Zone. VMware End-User Computing (EUC) solutions empower the digital workspace by simplifying app & access management, unifying endpoint management & transforming Windows delivery. Have you ever wanted help designing your Workspace ONE or Horizon 7 deployment? After all, a thoughtful design is critical for smooth implementation. If so, allow me to turn you on to a couple of great resources on Tech Zone that you might have overlooked before. Maybe these resources will save you some time: the RA, the Designer Tool, and the Topology Tool:

1st Design Resource: Reference Architecture

The first design resource I want to mention is the VMware Workspace ONE and VMware Horizon Reference Architecture – the document that articulates the options, standards, and recommended structures and integrations for using Workspace ONE and Horizon to architect an integrated digital workspace. You can use the RA to focus your solution on your unique business requirements and use cases. The RA provides guidance for each product – including VMware Workspace ONE, VMware Horizon 7 Enterprise Edition, and VMware Horizon Cloud Service on Microsoft Azure – as well as best practices and design considerations for integrating the components into a complete platform.

You might find it helpful to let one of our main gurus tell you about what he loves the most: Workspace ONE and Horizon 7 architecture. He answers many frequently asked questions and gives a high-level explanation of how you can apply the knowledge in the RA to your own enterprise.

2nd Design Resource: Digital Workspace Designer

The second design resource I want to tell you about is the Digital Workspace Designer – a tool to help you envision a design for your project using Workspace ONE, and including both Workspace ONE UEM (formerly known as AirWatch) and Horizon technologies.

The Digital Workspace Designer can help you to plan and size a VMware Workspace ONE deployment, to maintain current VMware best practices, and to make key design decisions.

Before launching the Designer, you can get an idea how it works by watching the following video. The video walks you through the Designer so you can see what makes it tick. Then you can try it out yourself (https://www.vmware.com/go/DWDesigner):

3rd Design Resource: Digital Workspace Topology Tool

The third design resource is the VMware Digital Workspace Topology Tool, and the post Introducing the VMware Digital Workspace Topology Tool. Use the Topology Tool to generate architectural diagrams of your digital workspace to help as you design your deployment and the underlying networking requirements.

In the easy-to-use UI, you select the Workspace ONE and Horizon components in your design, and choose from the available deployment options.

Topology Tool

The tool generates an architecture diagram that not only includes the components in your design, but also incorporates best practices and recommendations.

Topology Tool

What if circumstances change after you generated your architecture diagram? Simply modify the options you originally selected, and generate a new and updated diagram. To find out more, see: Introducing the VMware Digital Workspace Topology Tool.

At the end of the day

You can find these and other resources on Tech Zone -- the place to go for resources to assist you with every phase of deployment.
